FDL.png  Girl Scout Cookie Expo

Thanks to Troop 60 from Clovis for running the Sequoia Council Bounce House at the Girl Scout Cookie Expo on Saturday, January 23rd. The Girl Scout Cookie Expo is a yearly celebration of scouting put on by the Girl Scouts of Central California South that draws girls from Merced to Bakersfield. The Sequoia Council brought the bounce house and Troop 60 themselves set up a Monkey Bridge to entertain the crowds and show them the fun we have in Boy Scouts.

FDL.png  Campership Opportunity

All Scouts should experience the “wonderful world of camping” that Cub and Boy Scouting has to offer. The Sequoia Council is committed to ensuring that Scouts have the opportunity to attend camp, and as such, we provide scholarships to those in need to help them realize their camping dream. All units are encouraged to participate in the annual popcorn sale and camp cards to help Scouts earn the money necessary to attend Boy Scout Summer Camp or Cub Scout Day Camp.

Campership applications should be in the council office by no later than Monday, May 2, 2016. Once we receive a campership application we will send a confirmation email to let you know we received it. All applications will be reviewed and letters will be sent out to the families to let you know how much you will be receiving. In the case of summer camp we will also send a copy to the troop contact leader letting them know as well. For your convenience, we are offering an electronic copy of the campership which you can fill out online this year. http://www.seqbsa.org/register/2016/camperships.htm

FDL.png  Eagle Scout Service Project Fundraising

Donations:”An Eagle Scout project may benefit from donations from the beneficiary of the project, your Troop’s charter partner, your parents and relatives, your Troop, or parents in your Troop. You may conduct a fund raiser such as a car wash or bake sale to secure funds. You may not seek or receive donations from any other source.”  This is per new BSA guidelines. I do realize these new regulations make it a bit more challenging for your project. We are here to help!

Sincerely,

John Richers

CEO/Scout Executive
