We are pleased to announce that effective January 11, Edith Y. Ochoa will be joining the Sequoia Council as the new District Executive for Thunderbird District. Edith is a first-generation, fluent Spanish speaker who grew up in Mendota. She is a Fresno State graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Relations. She acquired other nonprofit experience while interning at the Ronald McDonald House Charity and Healthy Smiles in 2014. Edith is married and has a 3 year old daughter and a 10 year old son who is excited to join a Troop. She will be a wonderful addition to the professional field staff. Welcome aboard Edith!

Boy Scouts Sleepover Night!!

Boy Scouts of America will earn $$ back off of each ticket sold!!

Sleep Over for just $5.00 more and receive a commemorative Boy Scouts Patch along with a healthy breakfast!!

FDL.png  Scout Mass

The Diocese of Fresno Catholic Committee on Scouting invites you to the annual Diocese Scout Mass on Saturday, February 6 at 10:00 am. The mass will be celebrated by Most Revered Bishop Armando X. Ochoa at St. John’s Cathedral at 2814 Mariposa Street in Fresno. All boys and girls are invited to attend! Scouts are to be in full class “A” uniform. Scouts that have earned religious emblems will receive them after they have been blessed, before the final procession. There will be a cookie reception immediately following. FDL.png  Popcorn Spin ‘N’ Win Party

Our Popcorn Spin ‘N’ Win Party was a huge success!  Scouts who sold over $750 in popcorn where invited to the special party which was held on Saturday, December 5.  Each Scout got to bring two guests for a pizza lunch, free t-shirt and the opportunity to spin the wheel for great prizes.  Everyone had a great time and Scouts got to leave with two prizes each and a few got to take a third prize home.  Congratulations to our Top Seller, Bryson Bales (pictured below) from San Joaquin District, Troop 60!  Bryson sold $5,720 – incredible job, well done Bryson!

We held our Annual Distinguished Citizen Luncheon on Tuesday, November 24 at Harris Ranch where Sequoia Council honored Sid Cox. It was a wonderful event with family, friends and community leaders supporting our Distinguished Citizen. Congratulations Sid!

FDL.png  Cub Scout Pow Wow – Saturday, January 16

All registered Cub Scout Leaders and Assistant Leaders, potential leaders and interested parents are invited to attend our 2016 Cub Scout Pow Wow at the LDS Church Cedar Building at 5685 N Cedar Avenue in Fresno. It is an action-packed, all-day training event for Cub Scout Leaders and Pack Committee Members. You’ll spend the day learning new ideas and having hands-on experiences that will help you deliver a fun-filled, exciting program to your Cub Scouts. Check-in is at 7:30 am. The event will begin at 8:00 am and run through 4:00 pm. This event is FREE! Just bring a bag lunch. What a better way to experience Camp Chawanakee than in the snow! Join us for Klondike Derby from Friday, February 19 thru Sunday, February 21. This is a unique winter camping experience in the historic Alaskan Yukon using the patrol method. To get a discounted price of $18.00, please register by February 2, 2016. The Sequoia Council would like to recognize our 2016 Silver Beaver recipients and other volunteers for various significant contributions. Eagle Scouts will also be recognized. This dinner is Saturday, March 5 at Pardini’s in Fresno. Reception begins at 6:00 pm with dinner immediately following. Tickets are now available for $26.00.
