ALL.jpg  Camperships Applications

All Scouts should experience the “wonderful world of camping” that Cub and Boy Scouting has to offer. The Sequoia Council is committed to ensuring that Scouts have the opportunity to attend camp, and as such, we provide scholarships to those in need to help them realize their camping dream. All units are encouraged to participate in the annual popcorn sale and camp cards to help Scouts earn the money necessary to attend Boy Scout Summer Camp or Cub Scout Day Camp.

Campership application should be in the council office by no later than May 1, 2015. Once we receive a campership application we will send a confirmation email to let you know we received it. After the due date is passed all the applications will be reviewed and letters will be sent out to the families to let you know how much you will be receiving. In the case of summer camp we will also send a copy to the troop contact leader letting them know as well. For your convenience, we are offering an electronic copy of the campership which you can fill out online this year. http://www.seqbsa.org/register/2015/camerships.htm

FDL.png  2017 Jamboree

The Sequoia Council Jamboree Committee is preparing for the 2017 National Boy Scout Jamboree that will be held July 19 - 28 2017. This will be the second Jamboree at The Summit Bechtel Reserve located near Glen Jean, West Virginia. Adult leaders wishing to be considered for a leadership role must complete an application. In addition to the adult leadership positions described on the attached application, a very important position is the 3rd Assistant Scoutmaster. That position is to be filled by a junior leader who will be between the ages of 18 and 21 at the time of the Jamboree.

Due to the huge success we had in 2013, we will again be bringing a Venture Patrol (and perhaps two Patrols) along with our Jamboree Troop. Click here www.seqbsa.org/enews/pdf/2015-01-2017_Jambo.pdf for the application and return it to either Scout Office no later than February 27, 2015.

After we have received all the applications, we will hold evening interviews to meet the candidates and pick our team for 2017.

Looking for ideas for a Camporee? Want to know more about nature games for your Scouts? There is just about something for everything if you just search for it. Hopefully Cubroundtable.com can help improve the quality of your district roundtable. Give us your ideas too and we can publish them in this newsletter.

ALL.jpg  What’s Your Story

We invite you to share your story with us. Email a short write up to share your incredible Scouting stories with us. And don’t forget to include your photos. A picture says a thousand words. Please send all emails to Delailah Fajardo-Rosencrans at delailahfajardo-rosencrans@scouting.org. We’d love to hear what you’re doing!
